On the return journey there is an option to meander through the inner islands. View sandy beaches, beautiful bays and marine wildlife as your skipper gives an informative commentary. Another option is to stop over on beautiful Urupukapuka Island where there are numerous activities, scenic walks or swim.

Day 3 - Day 5 – Greater Auckland

Suggested Accommodation

Goat Island Marine Reserve - Goat Island is a protected marine reserve which affords the opportunity to get "up close and personal"with a wide array of marine life. These untouched clear waters are a favourite for marine biologists. Visitors to this park are able to feed many different varieties of fish and appreciate the many species of marine life in this unspoiled sanctuary.

Tiritiri Matangi Wildlife Reserve - Tiritiri Matangi is a Department of Conservation protected reserve with restricted access to visitors. Caviar is able to provide its guests with guided tours and can arrange for helicopter landings one day per week. Stepping on to Tiritiri Matangi is comparable to turning the clock back several hundred years. The Flora and Fauna is explained with passion and understanding by the DOC (Department of Conservation) guides.

Waitakere Ranges - Only 30 kilometres from downtown Auckland is the city’s largest regional park, the Waitakere Ranges. In just 30 minutes you will leave behind the bustle of the city and step into the tranquillity of the rainforest. A stop at the Arataki Centre perched high on the

Ridge of the Waitakere Ranges will enable you to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Learn about and admire the magnificent traditional Maori carvings. Continue on to the lush rainforest where you can walk the easy bush tracks amongst New Zealand’s famous kauri trees and giant tree ferns.

Everyone visiting the Marlborough Sounds falls in love with the beauty, tranquillity and pureness of this region. Hundreds of beautiful beaches and unspoiled bush walks await our Caviar clients and Guides. A great way to explore this area is by kayaks or small runabout boats. A picnic on your "own" beach is a memory that all visitors to this region should take home with them. Scenic flights for this air are also spectacular.

Grasmere Lodge, Canterbury - Built in 1858, the original limestone homestead, now the core of the lodge, introduces you to the style of personal pampering that earned the Harper’s Hideaway Report Grand Award in 1998. At the same time this traditional New Zealand high country station (ranch), set amid towering 7000 ft peaks, and provides a wide range of outdoor activities for those seeking a more adventurous interlude. This is an operational farm and visitors to Grasmere are welcome to be a part of the day to day farm activities.

Franz Josef Glacier - The spectacular Franz Josef Glacier descends to just 250 metres above sea level amidst the greenery and lushness of a temperate rainforest. Of all the accessible temperate glaciers in New Zealand, the Franz Josef Glacier is easily the steepest and fastest moving. While many glaciers world-wide have been retreating, the Franz Josef Glacier still flows almost to sea level, through a temperate rainforest of ancient trees. Flights by light aircraft and helicopters are able to land you directly on the ice to explore this wonder of nature at your leisure

Milford Sound – This is an isolated area of New Zealand which is explored by cruising the sounds (Highly recommended) and by scenic flights. The beauty of this area is spellbinding and every view is worthy of a picture postcard. No visitor to this region is ever disappointed by the extra effort required to get to this remote location. The Milford Track is a great adventure for those with the time (4 days 3 nights) to experience one of the great walking tracks of the world.
