Day 2 - Formosa Country Club The course was designed by Golfing Legend Sir Bob Charles and was modelled on the Augusta National Golf Course, home of the U.S. Masters. Formosa Auckland Country Club opened in January, 1998 and was the venue for the 1998 New Zealand Golf Open. Formosa Auckland Country Club Covers an area of 440 acres the course has encompassing views of the Hauraki Gulf and lush farmland. With its cliff top and coastal fairways, along with hundreds of Pohutukawa trees and Palms Formosa is truly Picturesque. Day 3 – Gulf Harbour Country Club The Gulf Harbour Country Club course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, arguably the world’s finest designer of classic golf courses. It is set against the spectacular backdrop of the Hauraki Gulf. After your round your helicopter will transfer you up the east coast and islands to the picturesque Kauri Cliffs Country Club Day 4 – Kauri Cliffs Country Club Kauri Cliffs was designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando, Florida. The par 72 championship golf course measures 7,119 yards/ 6,510 metres and offers four sets of tees to challenge every skill level. Fifteen holes view the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs which plunge to the sea. The beautiful inland holes wind through marsh, forest and farmland. The golf complex includes a world-class practice range, putting and chipping greens, a well stocked golf shop, and ladies’ and men’s’ locker rooms. Callaway ladies’ and men’s’ rental clubs are available. Suggested Accommodation Day 5 – Helicopter transfer to Wairakei Golf Club Wairakei international golf course - rated by prestigious US Golf Digest magazine to be in the top 20 courses i the world outside of the USA.A tournament venue of true international standing" Peter Thompson,(original designer of Wairakei and 5 times British open winner).Our aim is to provide the highest standard of facilities and service to ensure that the experience had by all visitors is one they remember.The course, although privatley owned is primarily here to cater for the taupo visitor market both domestic and international. Day 6 – Free Day Recommended Activities
Day 7 – Transfer to Cape Kidnappers Golf Course Cape Kidnappers opened in January 2004 is one of New Zealand’s most spectacular international golf courses. Designed by internationally acclaimed Tom Doak (Michigan, USA) this golf course is being regarded as one of the up and coming golf courses of our times. The scenery in the challenge makes this a world class golfing destination. Suggested Accommodation Day 8 – Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club The course is a links built on the site of an earlier nine hole course which was established in 1929 with a second nine added in 1937. The modern course was conceived in the 1940s. Former Australian Open Champion, Alex Russell completed the course design by 1949 which remains essentially unchanged to this day. Paraparaumu Beach Links is rated as the best course in the country and, because of its qualities as a traditional links, ranks 99th in the world. Links golf is unlike that played on inland courses. The well drained undulating fairways, fierce rough, fast greens and intimidating bunkers combine with the naturally windy coastal weather to create a truly challenging golfing experience. Day 9 - Transfer to Clearwater Resort Golf Course The par 72 championship course is home to the NZPGA Championship. Designed by John Darby in consultation with New Zealand golfing legend, Sir Bob Charles, the course combines elements of links golf inspired by the great Scottish courses with parkland golf, more reminiscent of Florida. Day 11 – Millbrook Resort Millbrook Resort's spectacular par 72 championship golf course, designed by New Zealand's renowned master golfer, Sir Bob Charles, is enjoyed by enthusiasts from around the world. Set amidst a spectacular alpine amphitheatre, strategic use of water sand traps ensure exciting and demanding golf. Measuring 6,412 metres (7,013 yards) from the back tees the design emphasises the natural features of the site, each hole having its own particular identity in terms of both strategy and landscape setting. Day 12 – Transfer to Auckland International Airport by private/commercial Aeroplane. |
